Why are girls attracted to assholes?

I read it in this thing that said most girls under 20 are attracted to basically assholes but when they're older they realize that its not who they want?

Because guys like us our too nervous and anti social to talk to the girls that go for the assholes. Thats not always true though. Perhaps its because there not all so well educated. Or guys that are not assholes still are not that great. haha sadly its true but most assholes are alot better looking then me. I am not cynical just a realist. They will all eventually get sick of them and move on to nicer guys. Just when your young remeber most people just look for flings and thats more about lust really then love and companionship. If youre old then screw life im doing something else with my time.

Or a scientific answer would be that natural selection. Makes animals choose the faster and cockier male. Because they do not want a male that seems to be faulty. Which is why girls like assholes.

This may or may have been the type of answer you were looking for. It has to do with sexual selection. Girls are attracted to assholes because their genes tell them that it would be better for them and their offspring to do so. Even though we don't like to talk about this because we think of ourselves as higher than animals it really boils down to how fit we are as individuals, and as mates. We may beat down sexual selection with societal laws and religion but the reminants of the beasts that we are remain. Assholes can take care of diffucult situations in society better than nice guys and not get trampled over. This would benefit women who pair with assholes.

What I would say to you is to balance being nice and an asshole to a woman. Don't be nice all the time...sprinkle some bad attitude at opportune times. It will actually make most women who search for this "reminant" characteristic more attracted to you. This is what I have learned and I think works best. It is the only way to both attracted them and keep them at bay.

Hello kevin...I'm a mother of a 26 yr old daughter and I have been asking myself that same question for years. I wish I had an answer to your question. The only thing I can think of maybe two things..lol is that they want someone whom is the opposite of themselves. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense. My daughter is a sweet person that would do just about anything for anyone. But yet her boyfriend is a complete Jackass..which is the opposite of her personality.Since she can't be that person attitude wise then she seeks someone who is. For example.. Sometimes you might come across a timid shy and sweet female and her boyfriend is a rough and tough Harley guy. Complete opposites. But you know the old saying...opposites attract. Then again maybe it's boredom, who knows. But anyway, if you come across the answer, please let me know so I can understand it also. And yes these females usually regret having the whole jackass when they get older or wiser one. Sometimes by the time they realize it, it's too late.

Hear what yoy are saying: "The ones that seem like good guys to me are either in a relationship or are not looking for one" There are 3 billion men on Earth. Are you 100% sure all the good guys dont want a relationship or are in one? Nonsense. Me thinks you want a hot looking guy that also behaves as a nice guy. Well, what have you done to earn one? Hanging out around hunks that change girlfriends every week trying to spot a good one? Why would a hot, nice guy be interested in you for a long term relationship?

OK first off, women of all ages are attracted to assholes. Thats because 98% of men are assholes. Well at least until they are between 25-30. Somewhere in that 5 year window most men overcome most of there assholeness. Now that still leaves open the possiblities that some men totally outgrow it and some never do. Most men still keep those primal asshole qualitys, so as we women get older we get tired of being used and played so we decide that we only want men with certain quality that over shadow their bad qualities.

Well, I will answer for myself. Some boys that aren't assholes really dont know what I want. I like the thuggish type boys because I like their style. I think some girls are born to like these guys and later they grow out of it and settle down with more gentlemenly guys.

Good question indeed. Women have always loved the allure of bad boys. I think in some ways it appeals to the maternal instinct within them, that is they believe they can heal the bad boys. This was brought out well in the film "Grease". Also there's a sense of rebellion and danger that is so delectable for them as well.

I believe it is more of a self-esteem issue. Young ladies don't think they can do any better. A lot of the time when a young lady finally finds someone to pay her attention whether good or bad at least they are paying her attention. And females need this

Because not ALL girls are attracted to Bad guys, it must be something to do with the girls themselves.....something in their personality - fear of commitment ? they think they are not good enough ? Their upbringing ? The girls - choose- husbands -like - their dad - theory also rings true.
