It means you get what you give. Have you ever noticed that the way you treat people is the way they treat you. I had a really hard time with this girl at work. She hated me and was really rude for no reason. So I decided I was going to be super nice to her and before I knew it she was super nice back. If you forgive people then it will make it a lot easier for people to forgive you. Because you can never get something in life for free. You have to give something to get something in return. I hope that makes sense.

you set a good example to other people because you can easily forgive people.
forgiving is a very hard thing to do and it takes lots of courage.

It is the same biblical principal as "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" In short, if you want others to be forgiving of you when YOU need forgiveness---then you must forgive others when THEY are in need of forgiveness of you.

Another is if you want people to be nice to you---then sow seeds of niceness--be nice to other people. Hope this helps.
