Just study as hard as possible. Stressing about your grades is normal. Just try to find a way to relax and clear you mind. Maybe meditation or go out to some unhabited place like a beach or in a forest and just sit down and clear your mind. This will also help you think about things that dont have to do with grades and will be very helpful with all aspects of life. Also remeber its a good thing to doubt ones confidence. It means you are willing to learn. And not willing to make faulty assumptions. And that is virtuous I dont care how many people say it isnt.

Looking back, I would have been much more concerned with my grades in high school. I would have taken it much more seriously, as it seems as if you are.

I was a freak about getting good grades in college. I always wanted to be on the dean's list and my goal was a 4.0...which is good, but employer's only really ultimately look at the degree.

High school is the important time of your life. YOu sound like you have it together...keep it up. Just don't let it stress you out. Do the best you can and keep your extra-curricular activities varied. Colleges love that.

Does that make sense??? Sorry. It's late...

Sounds familiar...

Grades are an important component to an education, but they are not the only component. You have to realize that although grades get you into doors, more often than not, your intangible soft skills i.e. your experiences, your conscience, your manners, the way you interact with others, your maturity - are just as important. You're clearly a smart girl since you are concerned about getting into a good College - my advice is that you should step back and begin enjoying your high school life for things beyond school. Is it really worth it to stress about academics and miss out on the wonderful other things you do?

Practical Tips
* realize that grades are not everything
* realize that colleges don't care about the smartest kids, they care about the best kids
* realize that you need to enjoy your high school years
* go to the gym (endorphins always help) and think about taking Yoga
* allot "fun" time just as you would work time
* join an extra club/team/band or two and emerse yourself
* talk to your teachers/guidance counselor and ask them about how they think about you - the affirmation to you may help you stress less about school
* plan your homework and other work better so that you realize what is important and what is not (i.e. stressing over a 5% credit is foolish when a 20% credit is around the corner)

the best way to not become stressed about your grades is to always do your very best at all times; tests, quizzes, pop-up quizzes, writing assignments, etc. Read ahead in your book so you can prepare to formulate any questions about segments that you did not have a clear understanding about. In addition, look over material you have discussed in class each day after school. Seek out your teacher's help, and suggestions on extra credit assignments, and reading material that can be found outside of class say in the library. These are tips that can help you to do well in your class and assist you in passing the standardized tests given at the end of the year in order to determine promotion to the next grade. Good Luck.

My daughter is in high school, and like you, stresses out over her grades as she wants to get into a good college AND earn a scholarship if at all possible. So, first of all, make a plan for what and how you are going to study for each class, including daily work and tests/quizzes. Now do your best to keep to that plan.

Now, are you doing everything REASONABLE that you can to be prepared for your classes & tests? If so, relax. No one expects you to be perfect.

I find that my daughter is her hardest critic and it sounds like you might be too. I realize that getting into a good college seems like the it is the most important thing in your life, especially now while you are in high school. But there are lots of good colleges AND what you learn at college is more dependent on you and your desire to learn and absorb this experience than on what is happening with your grades right now in high school.

So prepare yourself and do your best. After that relax! You've done all that your could, what else is left to ask of you? Good luck and don't forget to enjoy yourself as well.

i actually had a similar situation with your girlfriend. my parents pressured me to get all As and so one day when i came home really tired but i had to study for a big test which would decide my chemistry grade the next day! but then my parents freaked out on me about how lazy i was and we got into this humongous 5 hour argument about how i was lazy and didn't know the value of hard work. by the time the argument was over, it was 12 am. i stayed up all night to study for the test but then ended up getting only a B, because of many stupid mistakes due to my lack of sleep and guess what my parents had to say about that. i was stripped of all priveleged when i was 16 years old. that included everything but my computer, but i could watch 10 minutes of espn on tv a day. my only escape was going outside once in a while to parties and such. the point of my story is that **** happens and sometimes it is your fault sometimes its not. but the only think we can do is accept it and move on. crying over it does nothing, if i cried and whined i would probably made the situation worse. i think you should try to tell her this in a careful way because i think i know how she felt when she got a B and i bet right now she feels hopeless.

I'm in the same situation. It's just best to remember as long as you keep working your grades are going to stay at a decent level. Just try and forget about it every once and a while by listening to music or working out or hanging out with friends and stuff like that.

what I do is just do as much work and studying as I can, and then figure no matter what the grade is, it was the best I could do. (well, actually that's not QUITE what I do since I slack off and get on yahoo answers a lot, but you get the idea). just try and remember that being more worried won't make your grades any better, so just don't worry so much.

Good grades is not necessary to become President..But unlike Bush, do your best, there are many important roads your life will take you, whether you worry or not. To love, to dream, to believe, these are not things that cannot be graded. Become a better human being in all that you try and have fun on your journey.
