ok make sure you have the memory card in place inside the psp.
i only use the latest Real player because its easier to choose the
songs you want. you can download it at Real.com. Then connect
the psp to your computer with the usb cable. wait just a few
secnds until the computer recognizes the psp. then you can just
add the songs to the real player by going to file>scan my
computer for media, its really easy. then just right click the song
and choose add to mp3 player.i hope i helped if you need more help on how to to get the songs and stuff ill be back on here just ask.

first of all hook up the usb cable to a windows xp computer. then go to my computer and click E:/ and when it says PSP click that. then download your mp3s and drag it to the folder that says Music. The way that I do it is by buying or borrowing PSP MEDIA MANAGER ($30.00) then install it. That is the easiest way to put music, videos and games on your PSP. And also if you want a lot a music buy a 1GB or higher memory card because right now I have a sleazy 32 mb memory card.

You will need the cable that connects your PSP to your computer. Once you have made the connection, you can basically treat your PSP as an external drive, as seen from My Computer (if you use Windows). As per the instructions in your manual, you will need to then create a folder called Music (just like Photos or Videos, etc.), then any mp3 you drop into this folder will show up in your PSP. Your manual also shows you how to create additional folders, in case you want to be able to play an album at a time, etc. You can also purchase music disks, just like you can purchase videos and games for your PSP. You can also purchase music online for your PSP, but at that point you would still need to follow the instructions I outlined above. Good Luck and Have Fun!

In order to add songs to a psp connect your psp to a usb cable and put your psp in usb mode. Then go to My Computer. You should see a device called removable disk Open that and create a folder called "PSP" without quotes in the removable disk. Open the PSP folder and create a new folder called "MUSIC" without quotes. Then open the music folder and you can then create subfolders if you choose. PLace mp3's in this folder.

Plug in USB cable to PSP and PC
Once the device is recognized, go to "My computer" folder
Open up "removable drive" It shoud be the last driver on your computer." so if you use the D drive for cd's it should be E or F.
This will be your PSP's folder
Find the "MUSIC" sub-folder in your PSP folder if it's not there make a new folder titled "MUSIC".
Lastly Copy and Paste your mp3 from whatever program you use to your PSP's MUSIC folder and you should be done.
If you have the latest download from Sony you should put your MUSIC folder next to the one saying "PSP" in the "removable drive" folder. If you don't have one of the newer downloads you should place your MUSIC folder inside the folder titled "PSP". Or else you find the files when on your PSP
