I really want a cell phone but my parents won't let me have one. I am 12 years old. How do I convince them. They say it's not about the moeny but they don't think i need one yet.

12 years old is old enough if you are responsible and know ,when not to abuse the minutes that come with the phone. One good point to show your parents is the safety associated with being in touch when an emergency happens,and your parents can get a hold of you if they need to talk to you.

I think that you having a cell phone is ok, but I would put a limit on what you could use it for. I would only let you use it in case of an emergency such as you getting sick at school or something like this.

Wait a few years. At age 12 you don't really need one. There is a difference between need and want. Sorry, just be patient. You will appreciate how life works, with more experience.

Well they are your parents like they say. See if you have the new Cricket company or one of those other companies that you can have a phone for a flat $37 a month with unlimited minutes and text messaging, tell your parents they will be able to keep track of you. That is the only excuse I can think of.

Honestly, everyon does need a cell phone. Even if you're at school. There could be an absolute emergency, I don't know what, like if a teacher's trying to molest you, I don't know. You really may need one. Or if they drop you off at piano or some sport, and come to pick you up, someone could try to steal you.

i know how you feel. i am 13 and u just got a cell phone and i went through the same thing you did. go for the aprotch like its for safty. say like if you would get kidnaped you could use it to call her and it could save your life. do talk to her about it to much though cuz then she will just get anoyed.

you dont NEED one but it is nice to have one but maybe wait until you turn 13 then youll be a teen and maybe they will consider you more reponsible and like an adult if they dont already

yeah you are pretty young. just wait until youre 13. by then im pretty sure theyll let you have one.
