I only call in sick when I or my daughter is really sick. And I'm usually at the doctor.

Ok here you go:
Me: The doctor said I had a few screws loose so they said I was going to go to a happy place, when we got there they made me put on this cool jaket and it has the arms crossed on it!! Then they put my in this room and the walls were realy soft!! And that is why I cant come into work, because I was kidnapped to have fun.

When my kids lived at home I would use "my kid is sick and I must take them to the doctor". Broken pipe and basement flooded have worked as well.
