Trying to cut pickguards, but have many problems. What tool should I use? (Have tried, and failed, with linolum cutter, dremel tool (various heads) copping saw (need straight line) utility knife, x-axto, chisels, everything. A router works,but I can't use it to cut the holes for the pickups.

if its a stratocaster pickguard then it would be easier to just buy one on musiciansfriend.com or at a local store, if its a different kind then you should use dremel routers, to cut holes for the pickups, i dont remember what theyre called but ive used them before, theyre small and handheld, they have a small saw at the end.

they make a hot knife for doing plastic or try a jigsaw with the plastic on thick Styrofoam to take the vibration
