The Ancient Mayans believed it would end around 2012 or 2021, depending on which historian you read. The Mayan calander runs out at either of these dates.
Other scientists predict the end of civilization within the next 100 years due to global warming, polution, and generally humans destroying the planet. These scientists do not predict the end of the earth unless it is pounded by asteroids.

About 5 billion years until it gets engulfed by the Sun going into it's red giant phase. Believe me, we've put a lot of thought into this.

The planet is estimated to have an age of 4.2 billion years and it is supposed to have only lived for half of it total life. So it is likely to be present for 4.2 billion years more.

the planet will not end...
life on it probably would..
as the dinosaur period and ice age...
there's gonna be another episode for mother nature to do 'population control'
wheather we're gonna be here to witness it or not, no one knows...
just make sure you lived your life everyday (^_^)
