I've been scanning the TiVo web site but can't find the answer. I don't have my own receiver because the signal is split all over the building or something. I believe it's DirecTV. I just have a cable cord that plugs into the jack in the wall and into my tv. Thanks!

I assume you have a coax cable going directly into your tv and you use the tv tuner to change channels? In that case, yes you can use a tivo. It also has coax connectors as well as composite and s-video. The tuner in the Tivo will work the same as your tv's tuner.
