Correct, the curse was not real per se. It is like faith. You believe in it, and it's real. If you don't then it's not. The ancient Egyptians believed it was real and would protect their loved ones on their journeys.

Unfortunately for Lord Canarvon and Howard Carter's team, they didn't realize all of the bad things that could happen to you if you breathe in milenia of stale are. Most died from some type infection, and the curse was reborn.

For that reason, when they now open a sacrophagus, they only open it enough to let some air out at a time so it can diffuse with fresh air. So scientifically the curse is not real, but it depends on your beliefs.

Nope. Since it was a long time ago when the tomb was discovered science and technology is not as developed as it is now. They thoughtt it was the curse when the people from the expedition started dying one by one by unexplained reasons. It was later discovered that the culprit for the feared "curse" was a kind of mold which grew over time inside the tomb. The tomb was sealed shut and centuries of no ventilation propagated the growth of this molds. They got it from inhaling the contaminated air of the tomb. This is also present even in areas of America and other parts of the word. Some molds and fungi that are airborne can cause respiratory arrest and other immune disorders and another type of it is called the flesh eater which as the name implies eats your flesh.

Well, they say that all who enter the tomb will suffer from the curse, but the tomb, located in the valley of the kings, in Egypt, has been open to visitors for decades now. I'm not aware of any "mass" dyings over the years. I was fortunate enough to be able to visit the tomb, and I have been fine since--except for a little numbness in my left arm, constriction in my throat and some occasional difficulty breathing. Wait, what's happening, argh, I can't breathe--what..is happening--to me? Aaarrrgggghhhhh.

Sure. Every curse is real. But real and effective are not the same thing. If it were, half the world's population would be walking around with deformities because of others cursing them!

According to some, yes. We will never know for sure, but it is possible that by opening the tomb one would be exposed to diseases that haven't been around for hundreds of years, so one's body wouldn't have an immunity to them
