The Air Force stripped her of her duties, not the Army. She is an Air Force Sergeant.

This is not a question of right and wrong; it is a question of what authority the military has, and what rights may be taken from people serving in the military.

The military is not correct in stripping of her duties. However, the military takes this action in every case to enforce the Uniform Code of Military Justice, which replaces the constitutional rights for persons serving in the US military.

If she could convince a Federal Court that she has a right to make her own decisions concerning her private life, ahe might get a hearing and win.

But the military asserts that US courts have no jurisdiction over service members except for crimes committed off-duty. So she cannot get a hearing, and she has no defense.

Concerned people should urge their congresspeople to write a law providing full constitutional protections to members of the US military. That is the only way to fix this problem.

My guess is she wanted out, and this was an avenue she took. As for is it in the military's rights to be relieved of duty. Yes, she is in a position with recruits that reflects the highest standards of the USAF. Therefore her actions bring discredit to herself and the service.

We never had Training Instructors like her in 1973!

she is a Sargent in the US Air Force. she is representing our country when she puts that uniform on. I am in no way a prude, but she had to know she was going to get into trouble pulling this stunt....It is inappropriate. The Military isn't a fireman or policeman, it is Federal Government, and when she took that oath, she became government property. Not literally, but representing the United States, and she made a poor error in judgment...I hope they paid her a lot, now, if she is less than honorably discharged, she loses all her benefits, that was just shear stupidity!!!!!

Yes, the military was right in their punishment. Posing in Playboy in the uniform is not honorable conduct for a member of our Armed Forces.

I'm addled. Your links mention her being a NCO and an officer, being Air Force and Army. Those sources are obviously unreliable, so it would be best to find out some real information before forming an opinion.

She strips for Playboy.
Army strips her ...of her duties, temporarily?
Probably a bad decision on her part. Unless she intends to be a 'lifer' in military. Otherwise she should have waited untill her hitch was up.

Ohmygawd. I thought you'd said "...Strip her of her stripes." Or "... Of her thongs..." Hey, she's a masochist stripper-want- to-be, so?
SHE LIKES IT!
And now can always sue the Army for Post Bra-matic Syndrome, and once there's Kennedy's National Health Care, get a free Welfare check for life!
Being in the Middle Class, you won't mind the increase in taxes.

Army had nothing to do with it, she was in the Air Force. She should be court marshaled and given a dishonorable discharge - not for posing nude but for appearing in the pictorial in her uniform.
