I asked a question a while ago, pointing out an obvious lie of his, and some guy said it couldn't be true or he wouldn't be popular.

Make any sense?

he's just a liar and there are people out there that need to see their prejudices somehow vindicated

I'm a former Demonrat that evolved into a conservative/libertarian Republican. Having said that Bill O'Reilly is a piece of work. Like most media propagandists he's on one of the greater ego trips (I imagine) that life offers. He thinks conservatives, like myself, even care for the sound of his voice.

Sure, sometimes he makes valid points. But that's not really the role of a journalist. That's why I categorically tune out he and all the other propagandists the mainstream media has to offer. They'll never cover a story on how the Federal Reserve is a privately held corporation and what that means to your financial situation. Not even Bill O'Reilly...he's as spineless as the rest of them and that's why they are propagandists rather than objective journalists.

I've seen Bill O'Reilly lie directly into the camera and I let him know. Not that he even read my email. But then I could care less what he says anymore because he discredited himself with his subjective comments. No different than just about any other media personality.

On the question of his popularity I would offer a dissenting perspective. I'm pretty sure he's unpopular with the tri-media conglomeration of CBS, ABC and NBC...not to mention CNN and much of network radio and so many newspapers and magazines around the country. The mainstream media is owned by the same people that own the Federal Reserve.

What comes out of any conservatives mouth is berated, belittled and twisted simply because we fail to buy in to their political agenda like many of the "little people" who have sold their votes to the liberals for scraps and crumbs from the table.

If they only knew the truth. It would set them free.

We have no idea what issue you are referring to, but Bill O'Reilly is a smart guy who researches the issues. He is sharp.
Most Republicans will stop listening to popular speakers who are not honest injuns. O'Reilly has withstood the test of time. We have yet to hear a blooper as was found with Dan Rather and others. If O'Reilly did make a mistake, he would admit it and let us know what occurred.
But why am I going through all this when I am apparently answering a Democrat's rhetorical question.

If O'Reilly ever started telling the truth, his tin-foil hat wearing, froth-mouthed audience would desert him.

That person who attempted to answer your question just illustrated the complete and utter lack of critical thinking skills among Faux News devotees.

BLAME THE MEDIA (exposure.)
If it were not for Mr. O'Reilly's MEDIA CONNECTIONS, he would be another "just lookin' for a hot-stock"-broker.
Oooh, how the Media attention becomes such a crutch in society.
Look at Ophrah Winfrey, (and to go yet further back) Johnny Carson and Merv Griffin. These were each a "lookin' for the spotlight to get me out of this rathole"-person at one time.

I didn't know anything about him until the other day when I saw a clip of him in a documentary I was watching. He said the most horrendous things, and he made me want to puke!!!!!! There is no way that anything he says could possibly be true!!! He is evil and dangerous!!!!!

Same reason they think that about
Rosie O'Donnel,
Barbara Walters,
Donlad Trump,
Rush Limbaugh,
or any other celebrity.

Fortunately, not everyone thinks that way.

The National Inquirer is wildly popular and truthful about as often as Orally.

No, there have been many popular liars. Exhibit A: Bill Clinton.

I've never know him to right out lie but, maybe he had some wrong information like Bush supposedly did. I like the O'Reilly Factor. I agree with about 99% of what he has to say.

It doesn't matter. If you don't believe him, then you don't believe him.
I don't watch him anymore. He'll become an insignificant nothing like Larry King in a few years. He's pithy.
