i don't know - i am going thru the same thing myself - he is leaving in a few days -
i think you should just take a chance and let him know how you feel - the worst thing that could happen is that he tells you that he doesn't feel the same - at least you won't have That "well what if I never told him" feeling hanging over your head.

I would take the chance of letting him know how I feel about him. You would take the same risk with someone that was not your bestfriend. Each time that you fall in love you take the risk of the relationship succeeding or failing. If you remain quiet about how you feel, then will you forgive yourself later when you realize that you should have spoken up.
I do have one regret in life---not seriously pursuing a relationship with a young man that I graduated from high school with. He liked me a lot, but at the time he was so studious. He had friends, but they were studious also. They were athletes but they played on the school's tennis team. That young man that I also liked but wasn't ready to settle down with went on to pursue a career in medicine. He is now a doctor.

you need to tell him what if he is your one and only true love? what if you find someone else but you cant get him off your mind? if you are truely best friends then you will stay best friends but dont let him go with out letting him know how you feel if you do you will never fogive yourself.. and you may just have to live with the fact that he got married and has kids and you have to see him and act like you are ok with it and all the time wishing it was you.. and even though you dont mean for it to it will effect your friendship with him... life is short g/f go for it..

Tell him. Nicely - ask him if he declines the chance of your love that you carry on been friends and you will deny your feelings and learn to live with out him. IF he freaks out and can't even be friends, he mustn't be a real nice guy anyway. You will never know or find your true love unless you give this one a chance... hope this helped. Go for it xox

I would probably hide as long as I could until I could hold it in no longer. Then, I would tell him, but also, I would tell him I do not want to lose the friendship. I am a guy though!
