it doesnt matter just go with the guy see if hes your type and just keep doing your homework and studying because it doesnt take time off of school unless you mom makes you study every day for 4 hours.but if not your fine.

I think boyfriend is a title we mom's get nervous around. Why not just consider him a friend? Is there really any difference? I don't think you are too young for boyfriends, but you have to respect your mother's feelings. In the end, boyfriends will come and go... but Mom will always be at your side. Talk to her and make a compromise. She sounds like a reasonable person.

I think sixth grade is a little young to actually have a boyfriend and go out on dates. I can understand going on a group date with other people but not alone. Maybe your mom would compromise with that.

You are a bit young for a boyfriend. But since u said yes, then keep talking to your mom and show her that he wont affect ur grades in school! Good luck, hunny

Boys are cool at this age. I understand that you want to have a boyfriend, and I understand your mom's fear also. Perhaps try and have both? A study date with someone of the opposite sex? Study together. Or go to a museum or something that is educational until your mom gets more used to the idea.
Its really hard to for moms to let go. We want so much for our kids and are afraid to let so sometimes.

All depends on how old you are and how much your mom trusts you. You should probably talk to your mom about trust...:)
All parents tend to worry, some use grades as an excuse and some worry about grades legitemately...

Talk to her. That is usually the easiest thing to do, instead of sneaking around.

This probably will not get me ten points But I dont care, you are too young to be worried about a boyfriend! What would you do with one if you had one? Where would you go ? Why do you need one?your what 11 or 12?

No. I agree with your mother...you are too young. No dating till you are 16! Keep those grades up and learn how to make great pizza and cookies. When you finally are able to date you can impress your beau and friends with your great skills and good mind. Boys your age are often silly and sometimes weird anyway.

I think you are still to young to date. You need time to mature and so does the guy. To your mother you are still a baby so give it time.
