Be sure to get a blood pregnancy test--two of my children were negatives on the urine pregnancy tests. They are now 26 and 16.

Stress
Travel
A major event (good or bad)
Some people just don't have "regular" cycles all the time
Illness (major or minor)

There are more, but I'm getting too tired to think of them. Phone a doctor if it doesn't come on soon.

When I was a teenager, the times I would get my period would always change. I hated this. When I got married, at least three times in my life the days of the month have changed from the middle to the end of the month. This happens because of stress, or work habits. Even because our bodies just change as we grow older. Some periods even last longer, or less.
If you are not sure, just get a reliable test from the doctor. Each time I was unsure, I was pregnant. And the pregnancy test from home was negative.

What can cause a late period?

stress
hormonal changes
pregnancy
STD's
birth control pills

Are you stressed that you might be pregnant? That can cause it.

Try another test in a week.

sometimes stress or a poor diet, lack of exercise and poor sleepign habits can cause some women to miss their periods. i missed mine at the end of last year and thought i was pregnant but it turned out negative and my period came as normal the next month.
