If you like horror books i would definitely recommend Thr3e by Tedd Dekker. It is an awesome book. Also it has just come out as a movie. Enjoy.

F. Paul Wilson writes the Repairman Jack novels. Jack is half private eye, half vigilante, and 100% entertaining. Wilson writes horror novels, medical thrillers, and conspiracy thrillers, but Repairman Jack is by far his most popular series (there are 10 books in the series, so far). Here's a link:

And, of course, you can't go wrong with Stephen King. "Desperation" and "Cell" are two of his faster paced books, and "The Dark Tower" series is a really good story if you have the time to commit to all 7 books.
Clive Barker is pretty good if you like horror stories that are original and out there (and some of his are very far out there). "The Books of Blood" were some of my favorites.
Thomas Harris writes the Hannibal Lecter books ("Silence of the Lambs," "Hannibal Rising"), and Dan Brown writes the Robert Langdon books ("The Da Vinci Code," "Angels & Demons"); they're all pretty good, and the Dan Brown books are practically constant action.
Peter Straub and John Saul have some good ones (but they also have some I didn't care for). Try "Ghost Story" or "Floating Dragon" by Straub, or "Suffer the Children," "Creature," or "Black Creek Crossing" by Saul.
"Swan Song" by Robert R. McCammon is a really good book (if you can find a copy, that is). Anyone that liked King's "The Stand" would probably like this one.
Some other popular writers of horror are Ramsey Campbell, Bentley Little, Richard Matheson, Sarah Pinborough, Gary Braunbeck, Graham Masterton, Anne Rice, and Tom Piccirilli.

If you're open to any kind of book, I would highly recomend White Fang by Jack London. i enjoyed this book more than I did The Call of the Wild. It is an excelent sory of the conflicting forces within a part wolf-part dog that has been taken out of the wild and raised by humans. It is full of tradgedy, action, and those moments that just make you want to smile.

If you like Dean Koontz, you might also like Stephen King or Michael Crichton.Better yet, go to sites like amazon.com and pull up a book you like. It will show you other recommendations from readers who liked it, too.

You can't act big black bags under your eyes! Even if the mother was in on it - the father wouldn't have been and he looked just as run down. You are all just being mean and that boils down to one thing - the fact that they are from a council estate!! Who cares - and if they are cashing in on it - what about the people who are prepared to pay!!! They may be making money from it to benefit their child who will be scarred form her experience for the rest of her life! Also talking of making money the McCanns are the ones making the most and nobody is complaining of that!
