Homeward Bound, a story about two dogs and a cat on an adventure. I cry every time I watch it. The cat goes down a waterfall, the dog hurts his leg and refused to keep going. They get back home and the one that got hurt comes up over the hill, and the kid and dog have this hug and stuff.

Im not a person to fancy tear jerkers but the 1988 anime Graveyard of the Fireflies is the most tragic tale Ive watched thus far.
It was made for school children to appreciate the harshness of war (prolly some national education) and the animators decided to screen it back to back with Totoro so that the children wld have a buffer from being too sad. like candy after a visit to the doctors.
Though was animated it managed to foster, with me, quite abit of attachment to the characters and i felt their plight.

The saddest movie i have ever seen is Moulin Rouge. I cried when Satine died in Christian's arms. My second saddest movie was Star Wars Episode 3 when Anakin stopped loving Padme and she gave up and died because Anakin broke her heart.
