I always leave things to the last minute and I want to change that so if anyone has some good tips, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks

Come on guys...I am being really serious. I want to change this about myself and the smart a** jokes/comments are not helping at all...in fact it is plain rude. Please only respond if you have an actual suggestion. Thanks.

I have an idea.
I will tell you about it tomorrow though.
Ok, just kidding. I am horrible at procrastinating too. I find that the only thing that helps me, is to sort of bribe myself. "if I get done X, then I can spend the rest of this time doing Y."
I find that often, a project does not take nearly as long as I think it will. If it is housework you are putting off, try this: Set a kitchen timer for 15 minutes. Clean as much as you can in that time. When the timer goes off, stop. This will help prevent you from becoming overwhelmed.
Set a routine for yourself.
If it is homework, start on it as soon as you get home, so that you have the whole evening if you need it, or you have the whole evening to relax if you finish it quickly.
I have to make myself do 1 load of laundry a day, unless something happens like baby puke or something fancy like that.
I make myself start dinner at 5, before any of my good shows come on TV. When I shop, I prep my items as soon as I get home, so dinners can be cooked faster, at a later date.
Ultimately, the only way you will change is if you want to. No one else can give you the power to change yourself.

I have the same problem. It is an addiction, and like any addiction it takes willpower to overcome. There is always a point where you make the decision to either do what you are supposed to do or to find something else to divert your attention. You are aware of the decision while you are doing it, and it makes you feel bad when you do not do the right thing. You need to take control and make the right decision. and make it a habit to always choose the right path.
One good way to do this is tell someone else to keep you honest. There is a story I heard once about a casino manager that was trying to stop smoking. He put a picture of himself up in the casino with the message $10,000 for anyone catching this man smoking. It was indeed a great motivator for him to make the right choices.
Procrastinators Anonymous has a lot of good tips you may want to check into. But don't use it as another time waster. Visit the site after you finish your work, or so help me I will kick your behind. Does that help?

Procrastination, no matter what type it is or what is applies to, is about a lack of discipline. It's definately a phsychological thing. As soon as you know that something must be done, whether it's chores or homework or buying someone a birthday present... !. Designate a time/schedule 2.Write it down 3. STICK TO IT! There isn't anything that can be done physically about procrastination because it's all in your head. Just remember DISCIPLINE!!! DISCIPLINE!!! DISCIPLINE!!!

joesgoals.com
well other then that the onlything that does it for me is to just punish reward! just get it done then i can do the fun stuff!
that and a i nice reassestment on your goals!!! that works
write down everything you like
now write down everything you love from the like list!
now write down everything you hate
make the list!
now from the love list find one that you ern for.. what one has got you all jumpled up! tha'ts your passion!
what are things you like that halep you get to that passion 100% how many on the hate list.. now find other ways to do this and add up like list and love list!
Good luck

i like to make to-do list's, and it is somewhat gratifying to check off the box when you finish something. by writing things down it somehow feels like you have somewhat more control over them as well. and there is nothing more annoying than having something on your to-do list for weeks in a row that could easily be accomplished. for things i really don't like doing, i set up rewards for myself (i.e. if i exercise 5 out of 7 days, i will get a massage on sunday.) try to limit yourself to distractions (you know 1 hour of tv and 1 hour of internet or phone a day) if these things are keeping you from accomplishing your goals.
