My cellphone is about to kick the bucket. I have a service plan with Sprint for another year. I don't know if I want to buy a used one off ebay to last the year and get a rebate for a new phone next year when the contract is up or if I wnat to spend the money for a new phone that I like. I can still upgrade but is it worth spending the money for a phone for just a year?

Sprint.com is worthless and I need some guidance ASAP so I don't want to wait to go in the store tomorrow. Anyone know of any websites that give me a list of Sprint compatible phones by manufacturer? I want something that has changeable faceplates like a Nokia.

sure just go online on google shopping or ebay or yahoo shopping

(you know the drill) then search for a Sprint CDMA phone (its

probably gonna be cheaper). if you still cant find a phone that

tickles your fancy, just search for for an unlocked CDMA phone,

its gonna cost you a few more greens but you're gonna have a

greater selection( razrs, chocolates, treos). so yeah good luck

with everything.

Your best bet will be Ebay. Then you can go on the sprint.com site to look at all the phones that are Sprint compatible. You did not mention if you still have insurance or not.

Go to Ebay and there is a guy there that will sell you some info on how to get a phone cheap and cheap plans from Ebay. If you read the comments, it sounds like if you go to a certain department mentioned by some of the readers and threaten that you want to quit and go to another company, that Sprint will give you a good deal to keep you as a customer.

Now, I got s 10% discount. I did not reup immediately which I am glad I waited. They were going to give me only 5% then about a month later, I got a letter saying if I signed a contract I would get a 10%. So if you got a year left buy a good used phone till your contract is up. Then you can shop carriers. I bought the PPC 6700 for $300 after the instant rebate, customer loyalty and signing a 2 year contract, then a $100 rebate to boot. So in the end i paid $200, cheaper then Ebay.

I would wait, buy a good used phone, and wait out the contract.

does anyone have an old sprint phone you can use until your contract is up? i don't mean old i just mean unused by them old! be sure the phone says sprint on it too. also, if you do decide to buy a sprint phone off of ebay be sure the phone can be activated. i bought a sprint phone from ebay that could not be activated because of a technology change by sprint (or so they said)! so you need to call sprint with certain bar code numbers that are located on the phone under the battery and sprint will be able to tell you if the phone can be activated or not. the bar code numbers will also tell you if the phone is a stolen one. so anyway, be careful and good luck!
