the computer i am using used to be hooked up with s-video, but i formatted it and now when i go into the "display" part of control panel there is no sign of it and i can't work out how to get the picture accross.

there is no "function" button like on laptops on the top of my keyboard and i can't find anywhere on my computer. any suggestions on how i can get it working?

sounds like u need a driver for ur video card... depending on what brand of computer ur using u may be able to download it off the internet....
If Ur running windows xp....click on start- right click on my computer- click on manage- then device manager on the side- click on the plus next to display adapters- then double click on ur video card- click the driver tab in the new window- then click the update driver- in the new window click yes this time only to connect to the internet- then next twice- then follow the rest of the wizard... hope i helped

You may need an up to date driver.

To extend the desktop on to another screen right click on the desktop go in to settings and from the drop down box in the centre choose the other option. This should allow you to extend the desktop on to the other monitor which in this case is your TV.

If you need both screens to show the same you would need to download the driver and software for the graphics card
