Stinkvill says "don't buy a PC, buy an IMAC).
I belong to a 600 member computer club where we meet and learn from each other and benefit from visiting instructors. One member has an IMac but his computer is so different from the other 599 members that he is like an orphan and has trouble even conversing with other members since all his dials and buttoms are different.
When VISTA comes out where will the IMAC owners go? They will not be able to avail themselves of the $50 billion research that went in to VISTA and use all the wonderful new graphic features that MS developed.
The IMAC is a wonderful machine but so awfully lonely when 90% of the world are on PC's. That's right 90%.
The best machines are COMPAC, TOSHIBA, ACER, SONY, and HP.

Go for DELL. If you are considering MAC, don't. Check out the computer stores and see for you self the software and add-ons available for PC. As for the DELL, again, check out the ratings in the various computer magazines.

Homebrews all 'around, guy. We fairly plenty persist with rigs we equipped ourselves, yet while compelled at gunpoint to make your strategies up on a retail kind i think of maximum human beings could persist with Dell or eMachines, reckoning on the field's function. the two way could be spending too plenty and getting too little, yet they're in many cases greater sturdy rigs then the different manufacturers. Operative word: in many cases.

I would like to add, the most popular isn't necessarily the best. (Dell)
Those who say Dell is the best is because that's all they know\owned. Try a HP and I guarantee you will have different feelings.

Don't get a PC. Go and get yourself an iMac. You will very happy with it. Go and look around an Apple store, ask questions. You will be impressed. Don't get a PC.
