Call your OB/gyn and see if they want you to come into the office or go straight to the hospital.

Depends on whether this is your 1st baby. If it is , you probably have some time but will need to get checked out. You also need to consider whether the pains are steady (like every 5 minutes) or irregular spaced. If you are less than 36 weeks pregnant, get checked now.

If this is not your first pregnany, go to the hospital now and get checked....

The more times you have been pregnant, usually the faster the delivery. 2cm can progress fast if this is not your first time. Only an exam will tell how far the baby is down into the pelvis.

BTW Cervadil is not a drip, it is placed in the vagina to soften the cervix in preparation for induction of labor. Pitocin is an IV drip that is given to strenghten the contractions and quicken the labor process. Pitocin is usually given after the cervadil has worked. Sounds like you may not need it....except for an epidural, that is (LOL) Good Luck with your delivery!

well if you are only 2 cm dialated, and 80 % effaced, i would wait until i was 100 % effaced and dilated to at least a 5, other wise if this is your first baby you are most likely going to be in the hospital a good minute. For the other qustions such as pain in stomach, back and period like cramps, I would call your docor and let him know your symtoms, and see what he would say. Most likely he will tell you to go to the OB department and get checked out. It could be that you are having Contractions.

call your doctor, and let them know about how far apart you are. Things may change and you could be delivering in the next hour!
Everyone is different.
Try to rest now. You will need it. Eat a decent meal. Get plenty of fluids in you. Take a shower, but not a bath. Once you lose the mucous plug, you risk germs getting in while sitting in the bath water.
Make sure your bag is packed and your ride is ready to go soon.

Time your contractions: from the beginning of one to the beginning of the next one. If under 5 minutes go to the hospital now!!! If your water breaks go to the hospital. Remember that your water breaking may not be the tv and movie like "gush".. it may be a slow leak.. so it may not just be that baby kicking your bladder!! if all else fails or you're worried head to the hospital and get checked.. they WILL NOT laugh at you or anything else! They'll be glad you're taking it preventively and knowing that you weren't sure!

Have you timed your contractions?
Also, if you're having a hard time now, perhaps it's time to go to the hospital. I suppose your due to pop anytime soon.

Congrats to your new baby!

PS: Do not wait till you're 5 mins apart from the next cramp. Might be too late.

Remember you have to factor in your travelling from wherever you are (i suppose your home) to the hospital.

If you're in Singapore, nowadays, slow traffic n traffic jams are very common.

WALK. I had the *same* feelings, and I knew it was time to WALK. The baby will come for you, but you MUST exercise it out....

The day before my second (and final) baby came, I was buying vegetables at a corner market. The girls asked me --

"Is that baby comin' yet???"

.... I replied.... "I'm due tomorrow, so I have been walking."
They laughed right with me.

Go ahead and get that sweet baby out! You've been waitin' now for a while, right?? No time like the present.....♥♥♥
