If the song is in itunes, all you need to do is open itunes, plug your ipod into the USB port, and it should automatically sync. That is, it will automatically adjust the contents of your ipod to be the same as whatever is in itunes. If it's not in itunes, you'll have to open itunes, select import from the file menu, and transfer the song first.

If it is already in you iTunes playlist then just make sure the box beside the ones you want to dowload are checked, plug the cord in and the iPod will dowload the songs. If you have the songs on a playlist like windows media player and you are installing iTunes, the songs from the Windows playlist will tranfer to the iTunes playlist automatically, then after you do that do the above. Good Luck!
