I would break it up into three stages:

1. Premarriage, average of 10 times a week (first four months)

2. Postmarriage, average of 3 times a week (during first five years of marriage)

3. Post-childbirth, average of 1 time every 2 weeks (son is 1 and a half years old now)

But if you look just at the numbers it can make you a little sad. The reality is that I wouldn't change a thing; the reason it drops off is because you become involved in your life's pursuits (e.g. your carrier, your family, your investments). We could have kept on sitting around all day having sex, but that got a little boring, and started to become irresponsible. As you get older you need to make money, buy a house, raise little ones. When you are young minded, growing up looks boring and bland. But the reality is that I grew up because being a kid got boring!

Right now my wife and I find it difficult being intimate, but that is normal when you start a family. We still love and lust after each other, we just can't make it happen as much as before because we are occupied. Some day our son will need less attention and we will be able to be more sexual again, and I am looking forward to that!

When we first got married-like the first 10 or 15 years we had sex at least 3 or 4 times a week sometimes more, sometimes even 3 times a day- but now 28 years later we don't have any sex unless HE wants it and then it's not my choice. But it is my "wifely duty" so I do it and after we get started I love it and enjoy the hell out of it! But it is only like once a month if we're Lucky!

Joking aside, it is not just the quantity of sex which is the issue but the quality. Sex is not the only thing in a marriage but it is one aspect and if both partners are not working at keeping it interesting and fun the marriage is going to feel a lot of strain. When married you have more opportunity to vary the where, when and how so it should be more fun unless one or other decides to take it all for granted and set some sort of sexual routine.
If you want it to last keep it interesting.

It would really depend on the married couples...how they fell about the expression of the love they feel for each other and the importance that they give in their relationship.
others will say they are tired or busy but we should always remember as humans and as married couple we have our needs and we should have the quality time for us.. it is not counting how many times a week we do it , it come out naturally , we do not schedule this , it happens...if it has to happen everyday then be it and if we don't do it then we don't...be spontaneous...
