Bettas are a species of fish that reach a length of about 3-4" when adults. They will not grow beyond the normal size for adult fish of their species.

Good food and regular partial water changes will allow them to grow to their maximum potential size.

The old wives tale that says a fish will only grow to the size of the tank they are in was started back when people did not know the value of regular (weekly) partial (25-30%) water changes. The results were that ammonia, nitrites and nitrates built up and the fish were not healthy enough to grow to their potential.

A crowded tank also contributed to the stunting of growth due to the hormones given off by all fish. The more fish, the more hormones and none of them will grow to their potential unless water changes are done regularly. More fish, more frequent partial water changes. Never change 100 %, it removes the beneficial bacteria needed to maintain a healthy tank.

A larger tank means more water and thus the toxins take longer to build up and affect the fish's well being. So, the fish grew better in a larger tank, giving credibility to the wrong notion of bigger tank, bigger fish. Actually it is cleaner water, bigger fish.

Nope, never keep 2 bettas in the same tank unless they're all female and there is more than 5 of them (females). 7 litres isn't enough either. Gotta be at least 5 gallons for one, which is about 23 litres. Water needs to be at about 28degC, or 76degF

Uless you got the fish when they were really young you probably won't notice any growth. FISH DO NOT GROW TO THE SIZE OF THEIR TANK! An oscar is not going to stay at 2 inches long if you keep it in a small tank.

Fish do not grow to the size of their tank. Not healthy anyway. It is called stunting and is very painful and fatal. See link below if you don't believe me.

Bettas grow to 3-4 inches tops.

It is very possible, because most fish, including Bettas, grow to the size of their tank. BUT, I know I know...there's always a but...anyway...all fish have a maximum size, and the max size for most bettas are about 3". So, the answer is a definite yes, but there will be a time in the future when they will stop growing.

I hope this helped.

B. splendens grows to an overall length of approximately 6 cm (~ 2.3" in). That's the body, not the fins. That's about all you'll get.
