Yes, I think there is little question that it has happened.
Regardless of the media medium, we are deluged with negative images of muslims, the muslim culture and the disdain they reportedly have for westerners and western culture.
This is amplified by certain muslim leaders such as the moron who is the president of Iran and those other leaders in Lebanon and Palestine who declare their desire to exterminate every Jew on the planet..
At the same time, for some reason that puzzles me enormously, those muslims who say they are being maligned and misunderstood are notably silent. In the face of the suicide bombers, terrorist decapitations and other attrocities, you can hardly find a single one who speaks out. Is it fear? Who knows --- the only certain thing is that they are very quiet.
In that environment, is it any surprise that racist feelings will be aroused in the American population? Pleading "Poor me, poor me, you shouldn't think badly of me" doesn't do much to alter opinions. If the muslim majority (if, indeed they are a majority since we can't tell from anything they have said) believes the image being broadcast of them is incorrect, it is time to stand up and be counted.
Otherwise, remain seated and be quiet because things will proceed with or without you. At the moment, they are proceeding without you with the foreseeable result.

Muslum is not a race. Muslum desribes a person of a particular religion. Intolerance in what way. I work and went to war with Muslims. They have the same freedoms that the rest of the people in America do. Maybe intollerant to terrorists is a better question. Yes, intollerant to people who want to kill innocent civilians.

I see you are injecting your question towards racism, and yes I have seen many Muslim haters, also many responses that I have seen in here "seems" to be racist, then yes you have a point. But, it is not the majority of America and their thinking, so it doesn't count as any consensus thereof.
BUT, if it is like you say it is, then why are Americans still frequenting their businesses, and carrying on their friendships with Muslims?
Racist, true racist, will have nothing to do with Muslims as a whole, and an act of hostility will come into play.
For the most part, I feel that because of the Muslim extremist, Muslims of that faith have been unjustly judged! Those Muslim need to be vigilant in showing their own views, instead of allowing extremist Muslim to continue their hate towards anyone who disagrees with their religion and ideology.

Unfortunately, I believe the answer is yes.
Personally, I held out hope for a long time waiting for the protests and condemnation of the Islamic radicals from the general Muslim population.
I have not seen it.
I have seen riots and murders because of cartoons and the Pope's speech - but no outcry about the thousands of innocent men, women and children killed by the Muslim terrorists.
I don't know if "intolerant" is the right term - perhaps "cautious doubt" would fit the bill.

There is where I remain Liberal, about preference of religion, race, and creed. I stand by the Declaration and the Constition without the Patriot Act. Any true religious person keeps their beliefs holy within themselves and finds no need to push it upon others. If Islamic individuals independently are pushing they must be fanatics and stopped not because of their religious beliefs but because of their political domination upon others. Just like the Catholics, Protestents, etc., did. You must isolate this to those in the realm of the power and cease and desist all of their efforts, in a political arena to diffuse their attempts of a takeover or they will use the cross, star, crescent moon, swatztke, what ever to rule. These symbols are ridiculous to our substance of life. Materialistic visions mean nothing when all is upon you in strength with guns. Yes you must fight them that would abuse the priveledge of the freedom of choice within our government. And also the politicians that abuse their powers as well with the flags, and or nuke missiles. It is all relative, we are human and we make mistakes, but some are life threatening and should be stopped. Like Saddam he was evil, and his followers as well. They all are at the point of believing they are G-ds or are the right hand of a false G-d. There is no G-D in heaven that wants murder, rape, lies, theft or war, etc., that is man made.

It is impossible to be racist to muslims as muslim is not a race, it is a religion. I think people all over the globe are becoming less tolerant towards muslims. Look up Australia's Mufti Sheik Al-Hilali and you'll get an insight as to why.

LOL I don't think you can be "racist" toward a religion. But yes, America is starting to get suspicious of the nations of Islam.
It's interesting to see people start to get the balls to scrutinize a religion.
I wouldn't say we are 'intolerant' though. Is it intolerant to dislike people who are intolerant? That's the real question here.
