A lot of people use cucumber slices to reduce the swelling and blood collection under the eyes; just chill them, then lay back and enjoy. You can get the same effect from a cold eye mask. Some people also use preparation H to shrink the blood vessels under the eyes - just make sure not to get it IN your eyes. Other than that, concealer works.

Almost everyone gets dark circles under their eyes from time to time. Dark circles under eyes usually are temporary and not a medical concern.

You may be surprised to learn that fatigue usually isn't the cause of dark circles. Instead, the most common cause is nasal congestion. When your nose is congested, veins that usually drain from your eyes into your nose become widened (dilated) and darker.

Another cause of undereye circles is eyelid swelling during sleep. When you lie down, gravity can cause fluid to collect in your lower eyelids. This swelling may create the appearance of shadows below your eyes. In addition, dark circles can result from chronic skin conditions, such as atopic eczema. Dark circles can also run in families.

Over-the-counter products may help diminish dark circles under eyes. Look for skin creams that contain vitamin C or K, alpha hydroxy acid and kinetin. Treatment for chronic and severe undereye circles is directed at the underlying cause, if known, and may include bleaching agents and laser therapy.

There's concealer at cosmetic counters specifically for this. Try a more expensive name such as Merle Norman or one of the department store counters. Merle Norman usually gives better help. Don't be surprised if the concealer is an unusual color like yellow or purple or green. You select it based on your own skin tone. Then cover with your own foundation.

I've known people to claim that lying restfully with cucumber slices or cool tea bags works, Never tried it.

For me, the magic ingredient to get rid of my circles is sleeping on a good mattress.

are you middle eastern or from somewhere like India? That is charastic of their coloring.

If you are white, like me and have dark circles, like me, and you've had them forever, like me....then just get some good make up to cover it up. More sleep will help a bit in the darkness...but its just fair, fine skin under the eyes and its just dark.

There are serums & creams that are expensive and Ive never used them. There are cover ups in really light or even yellow or green (you use it and I swear, your circles go away-with yellow makeup!)

Go to a department store make up counter, (not Mac-they are so over the top) just go to Estee Lauder or Clinique -one like that- and see what they do for you, if it works, buy it. It might be $30 or more, but it will last a long, long time.

I have the same thing and I have had them all my life. I found some of mine was cause by sinus problems. They get darker when I have a sinus infection and also when I am tired. I used a concealer for a while, but now I just live with them. There isnt much you can do.

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
•Powdered fenugreek and milk are said to tackle dark circles. Apply a paste of fenugreek mixed in milk on dark circles in the night. Wash off in the morning and watch dark circles vanish for good.
•Take a teaspoon of tomato juice, a few drops of lemon juice, a pinch of turmeric powder (if you are not allergic to it) and a little flour, enough to make a paste.

The best thing I can tell you to do is put a little line of red lipstick under your eyes and rub it in fairly well then take the covergirl powder/cover up that is most like your skin tone and and blend it in well. It always seems to work for me.

Well, there's this compact from the store Ulta that I use. It's by the brand name Red Earth, and it's amazing. It has 4 diffrent "creams" that you use, one for dark circles and bags, other for reddness, and so on. It's pricey but it works. It's called a concealer. Here's the website:

Use concealer, you can find it at any pharmacy or Walmart. Seriously, that's what it's made for. And after you apply the concealer, you might want to add some foundation to even the tones in the skin.

You can either buy Sudden Change Under Eye Syrum, or apply a foundation that is closest to your skin color and then apply a concealer.
