Pretty simple. I always really want to do something at a time when I can't. For example at the moment I want to play my bass guitar but its 4am and I live in university accomodation with people on either side of me, who would NOT appreciate my enthusiasm.
Why does this happen? Is it some sort of fate?!

God I hope that you are not paying too much for your accommodation. May I suggest that you take a philosophy course, which is probably the best place for an answer. The question is probably deeper than you appreciate.

Of course it gives rise to the question of "What the F**K are doing up at 4 am with a guitar and not a youngwan?"

It's called human nature. We all want what we can't have.
The bad side: We want what we can't have and that makes us needy, whiny, mad or whatever.
The good side: That can also help us appreciate what we do have AND it is what keeps us striving for more instead of being lazy or complacent.

In my day we had a term to describe urges like this. We called it "stupidity".

But I am harking back to a simpler age. You probably have attention defecit disorder or something.
