I love WI and they have the best cheese. Small town businesses and farms who put passion and effort into their food are obviously going to produce better dairy products than some mass-producing factory. Yucko. Cali should just stick to their vineyards.

Yes, Wisconsin should still hold the title of 'Dairy State.' Even if California produces a greater quantity of dairy products, dairy is one of the largest, if not the largest, agricultural output of Wisconsin. This is not the case in California. And I agree, the quality of dairy products leaving Wisconsin far surpasses any generic product leaving California.

I agree. Cali shouldn't be the dairy or cheese state. Have you seen how many of the cows live? I mean wow - talk about over crowding. After seeing that, you will buy organic dairy products hands down.

WI definitly should hold true to the title "Dairy State" I am from WI and I agree Wisconsin's is a lot better than Cali's.

Not sure if this is true (but my 89 year old grandmother says it is)....Wisconsin still has on its books a law that says if you order a piece of apple pie you should get a free slice of cheddar cheese on it, if requested. :-) And ya know, you don't get anything for free in CA! :-))
