Im having a hard time meeting friends?

Question

I go to a recovery AA meeting almost every day,to keep sober.
After the meetings everyone pairs of socialy with some one to talk too.But no one is interested in talking to me .This happens all the time.I tryed talking to different people But I dont want to interupt some one.
And when they do talk to me -people their always saying Im a very multi talented person art sewing fashion design.Or the say I have a beautiful face.
The women are not interested in getting togther to go to lunch or go shopping.You know like to normal women.
I dont understand this because Im very interested in other people Im a good listener.Dont people like good listners?
At orther meettings it happens at womens meetting and both men and women mettings
WHATS GOING ON?I DONT UNDERSTAND!

You either look like you have your act together, or you make people uneasy. I think that people in your group would want to talk to someone who can sympathize with them, not someone who is doing better than them nor someone who's problem makes theirs insignificant in comparison. But I gotta say, check your personal hygiene. You may have offensive breath or body odder. Shower and get a haircut before you go. Wear clean clothes with out holes or stains, mouthwash... the works. If that doesn't solve your issue, sprinkle a bit of glitter on your head and upper body. People will wonder what the hell you were doing to get glitter on you like that. Tell them a nice story about twin strippers:)

Being a good listener sometimes means repeating what the other person says. People like it when you agree with them. Always look for opportunities to share a story that fits into the conversation, make sure it's a lively one!

Be sure to smile a lot too --people like happy people.

Also, try some body contact when some one says something funny, reach out touch their back, their hand. It' means your open to them and like them. People like you if you like them. They might just think you're stuck up.

Put yourself out there.
Say hey, introduce yourself, and make sure they know you can be more than just an AA acquaintance. You're fun and interesting, everyone is in their own way. If they don't respond then move on. Sometimes every situation does not come with any new friends

Have a good look at yourself and answer honestly 'do you like yourself'.

May be your dressing is all wrong.
Your hairdo may not be neat.
Do you smell ( of liquor or any bad body adour etc)
Do you have bad teeth or bad breath

You need to make yourself presentable in order for people to approach you. Wear a smile always.
