when i saw the first resdient evil movie i was expecting jill valentine, barry burton, chris redfeild, and albert wesker. basicly all the video game characters. and they were spent more time in the underground labs than in the masion. the movie was great i liked it but i was a little bumped out because the story line was way off from the game. and the same with the 2nd movie.

The main problem is that if they stuck too closely to the game's story, the target audience would know what's going to happen next. They needed to change a few things to give the audience a surprise or two.

Then there is the budget considerations. Sometimes things can't be done because it is too costly.

The other problem is hindsight. Ever thought "Man, I wish I had said this instead of that.' Well the same goes for game designers. They might have thought of something better than what was originally released.

well anderson explained that had he done a complete remake of the game as a movie everyone who played the game would know what was gonna happen and be bored to death, but then he made a new version no one expected... but in my opinion it wasn't all that thrilling anyways...
