I love you!!!! Yeah Vegetarians!!!! OK, sorry about that.... well, you can try telling your friend that you don't enjoy eating once-living creatures, and that you don't appreciate her causing you so much trouble over your decision. I know that she is trying to help you, but she should realize, that you made this decision, because you feel it is wrong, or gross, or whatever the reason for you. Just sit her down the next time she insults you or embarrasses you about u being a vegetarian, and just explain to her why you are, and that you appreciate her trying to help you, but you would rather eat your veggies in peace. Good luck, my friends were the same way at first.... I can see your point of view.

Show your friend that your diet can still be rich in riboflavin through leafy green vegetables and that complete proteins that your body needs are coming from other sources like beans, lentils, peanut butter sandwiches and tofu. Your friend is probably an omnivore to be exact. That means she is half vegetarian so find foods that are able to be shared without guilt. You need to show her without a doubt that you are getting the nutrients you need from your vegetarian diet. If you think vegetarianism is merely a moral decision, it is not. You will have to do your research or your friend may have good reason for concern.

Sounds like "drama" to me too....you are free to eat as you please ...and if you want to leave meat from your diet you are not the first one. You do need protein in some form so get the best advice from your doctor along with a checkup to see if you are lacking something in your diet. When you are young that is when you lay down calcium in your bones....so when you age you won't get osteoporosis...that is one main problem for women...your bones are very thin and brittle if you do not have enough calcium.

What you do for your mind and spirit is no ones business unless it affects your family and friends. Hopefully your classmate will grow up and stop making loud statements for all to hear. She is not showing much intelligence.

Best of luck take care,

I have a super competitive friend who was always talking about her hair growing faster than mine and how she was loseing weight and being skinner than me, she had worms and Im serouse about that. She never out grew it and were in our mid 20s now.
I think its great that your a vegetarian. I wish I had the will power to do it. Not only are you helpeing the economy, saving animals lives but its good for you as long as you get the nutrition you need. They say that kids that grow up in a vegetarian home are leaner but healthier than other kids.

That doesnt sound like a very good friend, I would just tune her out. Educate her about being vegetarian and what you eat. My cousins are vegetarian and they eat as much as everyone else and they are still skinny but healthy, its a healthy way of eating that makes you lose wieght.

as long as you aren't anorexic, just don't listen to her.

trust me, if you never told her or let her know about it, she would never know or notice.

being a vegetarian is very good for you if you do it right.

make sure to eat alot of protein, if you don't, you will become unhealthy.

eat beans, and nuts...white meat if you can. do a search online for high protein content foods that fit with your lifestyle.

by the way, saving animals lives doesn't help the economy like the previous poster stated. it doesn't even help with the ecosystem, meat is bred...its not like people are hunting chickens and pigs and cows to extinction.

don't listen to tree hugging wacko's

when people make lifestyle changes they often want to convert as many people as they can and this might be the source of the fear. If you haven't been pushing for people to try vegetarianism don't, just enjoy it. You might want to explain that just because you found something new it doesn't have to change the friendship or mean she has to give anything up or mean your want her to change because you did. this is something YOUR doing. Good luck and peace!

whats your height and weight?

You should be flattered that she cares that much about you. Its hard to find a good friend like that. Be sure to keep her as one of your friends whatever you do.
