You are a prime example of how God teaches us to have love, empathy, sympathy and help those in need. God doesn't hurt people, people following Satan hurt people. We are not created to be robots. We have minds and a will to do what is right or what is wrong. We all have a small voice in our heads that tells us what to do, but we don't do it all the time. God whispers, Satan screams. We sometimes hurt ourselves by our choices that go against what God has planned in our lives. I was hit by a semi traveling 55 mph and almost died. When I woke up 2 weeks later on morphine, I wanted to be a better wife, mother, sister, friend, child of God and set about to do just that. I am still crippled but happier than I was prior to the accident and also more productive. Adversity in our lives gives us character, tenacity, patience, generosity, mercy, love, gratefulness and a host of other qualities that mimic the likeness of God. We won't know the answers to all the questions till we go to heaven. Look for God; he is right next to you. There are signs everywhere. Read the Bible - Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth and to you many Blessings...

God also said His thoughts are above ours, so that is the reason we cannot understand. People die, we have brought disease upon ourselves, people have car crashes due most of the time by negligence (of 1 party or the other), and we have so many problems it's not funny. These problems and sufferings, however, are not brought to us by God, but by our own selves and through the simple fact that we begin to die the day we are born.

God allows us to go thru trials and tribulations. It makes us stronger as a christian. and The bible says our understanding is not required. We may not understand why really crappy things happen, but it happens for a reason. Just know that God is in control of all things and that He knows the ending of all things=)

It's Karma kicking in. These people might have done something in a past life and they are paying the consequences in this life. It's not that these people deserve it, it's to help their souls perfect themselves. It would be a lot easier for me to explain this if you were into Buddhism. Also you would understand. It has nothing to do with God causing it. Or a devil, for that matter.

Makes you think, doesn't it? When I see women in Africa
getting raped & their hands & arms cut off, while their
children are starving or dieing of Aids, I really wonder about
that, myself.
Maybe human beings should take better care & work towards
a better mankind, rather than worrying about a supreme being.
Or maybe, that is God's test of how we take care of each other.
Alot of people are failing. (Bush & co.)
Some are excelling. (Oprah, Bill Gates)

he teaches us to lean on him through those troubled times. it makes us have more faith because we look back yrs later and say " man how did i ever make it thru that, oh I made it with Gods help".
in your bible it tells you that God punishes, i guess you could say, those that he loves. so when you stop having trials then thats when you need to start worrying.
Lord Bless

God has a purpose to everyone and everything... he doesnt do things to watch us suffer... there is a reason. Whether it be to learn or grow closer to him or to inspire or teach others, there always is a purpose whether we know it or not

That's a good question. I'm not very good at explaining things, so here's a story to help you understand.
Robert was so excited to start school. He went to his first day of school and his teacher was really nice, and he was very good at solving problems. His teacher gave him problems, which he would think about for a while, then solve. He always felt really good after solving them. One day when he went into class, there was a problem written on the board: You are out in the playground and you are playing with one truck. James steals your truck three times. How many times do you punch James? Robert thought and thougt. "Three times?" he replied.
"No, not three.." his teacher responded.
"One time?" Robert guessed.
"no, not one," she said with a smile. Robert thought and thought. He finally thought of the answer.
"No times!" he answered and smiled.
"that's right. no times" said his teacher, and she moved him up a grade.
As the years went on, Robert solved lots of problems and he always felt good afterwards. They got harder and harder as he moved up to higher grades.
"Robert, You feel like a loner and like you have no friends," "Robert, your dog just died from a heart attack," "Robert, you are mad at your father," and sometimes Robert just wanted to hide under his desk and not think about the problem. There were breaks and long weekends, but the bell would always ring and there would always be a new problem. One day Robert walked into class and was greeted with yet another new problem.
"Robert, your parents are getting a divorce. Your brother has overdosed and the doctors say he won't make it through the night. You have no one to turn to, and you feel like you have no friends and you think no one likes you or cares about you." the teacher asked.
"NO! i dont want this problem!" robert cried and hid under his desk. His teacher leaned over and told him that no matter how long he hid under the desk, and no matter how hard he cried, he would have to solve the problem sooner or later. He took a long deep breath and thought real hard. Finally after a long time he looked up and smiled. he had solved the problem. The teacher smiled back and moved him up a grade.
Robert got better and better at solving problems, but every once in a while he would get a really hard one and cry and hide under his desk, but the teacher would just smile and say, "It's alright. we can come back to this one later." For years and years Robert solved problems and moved up many grades. One day he sat down to a problem he never thought he would get.
"Robert, You are very old, and your body isnt strong enough any more. You have had three heart attacks, one missing kidney, and one stroke. When your body dies, how much will you have learned?" Robert thought for a while. After a very long time, he smiled and realised that all the problems had really been only one. The teacher smiled, and moved him up a grade.
