Okay, so i have been having this problem with my computer where my mac is keeping the internet running for how ever long i'm on it and then if i leave it and come back an hour later i have to unplug my connection and restart my cable modem,this can go on as many times a day as it wants, i tired the same modem on a different computer, a windows which i share it with frequently, and the connection stayed for the whole day. I found out that when my friend was here he looks up porn on my mac )-:
which im mad, so could that have anything with my internet not working on my mac, the modem says that its fully connected. just says it isnt on the screen!

If your Mac is set to sleep after a period of inactivity, your ISP's server may think that it's been shut off, so it cancels the DHCP lease. Go to System Preferences, Energy Saver and adjust your settings.

pop up can crush your computer when you get a lots of them
