Geek alert!!! Technically the Sun has not gone anywhere the question is why did you turn away from the Sun. Why does the Earth rotate on its axis while rotating around the Sun?

The earth rotates on its axis, say your on one side of the earth, for part of the day the sun is bright but the earth slowly rotates its face to the other side, away from the sun. When the sun is not showing it gets dark. Its called night.

The sun is on the other side of earth, waking people up. Our chance to finally call it quits for a day. Thank God we do not live on the Moon. No night unless you go over to the dark side, Luke.

Because everyday the earth rotates and when it rotates the sun goes down into a different zone thus making the moon take the sun's place! :D

Possibly because this side of the earth is facing outer space and the other side is facing the sun because the earth is contantly rotating...? Its a never ending cycle you'll get used to it.

the earth spins, and when your on the part of the erath that is facing away from the sun it gets dark outside. so actually the sun doesnt actually go down. lol in fact there is no "down" in space anyways.
