I've been told that American colleges coddle their students more than their international counterparts.
At the same time, the US universities are often named as among the predominant institutions in the world. Harvard, MIT, Stanford, etc. The list goes on.
However, as global events change and it's harder to get into the US (not to mention more expensive), there have been people who claimed the college system here neeeds an overhaul in order to remain competitive.

American College needs to reform financial policies. Unless you have parents who can afford college for you, life begins drowning in debt. Work studies are fine, but why not allow individuals to use work studies to offset college expenses, to avoid taking high interest loans?
