Kinda difficult seeing the keys on the keyboard with no lights on. The screen is to high and not enough light on the keyboard. As for the other possible answer, off at first then later on would work. But is it more fun in the dark. You can't see were the hands are going. MUAHHHHHH......

just candle light, fire light or moon light. Or All lights off during a thunderstorm so the lightening lights up the room.
