At 13 you can be smart but you have almost no experience in life. Your parents in their 20's have more experience than you. They may or may not be smarter. I am in my 60's and still learning every day. People will respect you and like you more if you are quiet and smile a lot. You may not know anything but people do not know that. When you open your mouth and talk you remove all doubt. Show respect for your elders and other people and you will be thought of as a genius. Remember it is not what you do in life that is important - it is the impression of what you do that counts. Read my words again when you are much older and see if you agree.
One final thing - respect from others is not a right. It must be earned.

Learn to be responsible. Treat your parents with respect. Don't back talk them. Don't fight with your brother/sister. Help around the house without being asked. Tell them you love them at least once a week or so, and really mean it. Wash your mom's car on the next pretty day. Do your best in school (doesn't mean you have to make straight A's). Don't hang out with friends who are pot heads. If you have problems, communicate with them. They want to know what's going on in your life. They love you.
Do all of this and you will earn their respect and they will treat you differently. But really, don't expect them to treat you like an adult until you are out of the house and on your own a good while.

Your family is in "their 20's"? They must have been VERY young when you were born!
To be treated more like an adult, I recommend just waiting for about 10 years...they'll come around eventually.
As for advice...you are still so young, that I sincerely doubt that you would listen...so I'll only offer this: treat others exactly as you would wish to be treated
(no exceptions).

Hey Brad.
I know what your going through. If you want to be treated like an adult, acquire more responsibilities. get a part time job. Babysit, clean your room or the house without them asking you to, or get a girlfriend and pay for her movie ticket. Take small steps. Soon your parents will realize your no longer a toddler. Instead they'll see a responsible young man.

Remember that mom and dad are humans, and young themselves. You can use your frustrations with them to make a higher standard for yourself. Don't become a young parent, do well in school (I know you hear that all the time but it means big dollars and the ability to by and x-box for your first place later!) and make a plan for yourself.
Go to college. Don't care what other 13 year olds think of you, and remember that middle and high school social status don't matter a bit when you are done with them, Good luck for the next 5 years kid!

Well start by changing your user name from Bradboy12 and then take that silly Jack Daniels bottle off your name. if that is the picture you would like to show to the world at 13, you deserve to be treated like you are 2

its normal for them to treat you like a baby. the only advice i can give you is to learn from the mistakes you make. also 13 is just a number, don't let it get to your head.
