i have a tilted uterus, i am anemic, and i am 40 years old. i have had one healthy pregnancy, but i have had two late miscarriages (one at 16 weeks and one at 20 weeks), do you think it is possible that i could have a healthy pregnancy? The doctors cant seem to find any reason for my miscarriages, although i understand at my age there is an increased risk of miscarriage and birth defects, but i cant seem to get past 16 weeks, every sonogram....no heartbeat....i am heartbroken. I want my own child, and it is so hard to find a surrogate that i can trust....

WoW you sound like you were describing me. I am 31, anemic, daibetic, tilted uterus, and have had 1 healthy baby, 1 late m/c at 4 & 1/2 months and one at 16 weeks. I know the heartbreak! I am so sorry. My drs couldnt find a reason no hb each time, and my hcg level would crash. They told me that I probably wouldnt carry a baby to term, however I am now scheduled to deliever my daughter (full term and healthy) this friday. Good luck and just keep your hopes up!

check with another dr. it could be the tilted uterus. I am not sure if it is the same, but my cousins bout have heart shaped uteruses and they both had trouble carrying their kids. The first one has had 4 late misscarages, her first child she had no problems with then she had the 4 misscarriages and then was able to carry her final child fullterm, but was on complete bed rest since she was 4 months along! The other cousin of mine, who also has a heart shaped uterus and had one midterm miscarriage then was able to have a fullterm pregnancy with her first child but was on complete bed rest from 25 weeks on and had the baby 2 weeks early, after that she had another late term miscarriage and then a year later was able to carry her final child but was on complete bed rest from about 5 months on and once again gave birth 2 1/2 weeks early. She also had pregnancy diabetes. I would definatly get a second opinion on how your tilted uterus could be affecting your ability to carry a child, as both of my cousins doctors told them it was their uteruses causeing the miscarriages, and niether of them had "healthy" pregnancy's with either of their 2 children! Good Luck! And no I don't think your age has anything to do with it. I have had 2 aunts have children in their mid fourty's!

I think that this is something that a specialist should determine. It's also up to you if you think that you could handle another let down (god forbid) Have a talk with your doctor. If it is not possible for you, you can look into other alternatives. good luck

it is possible ,they can actually sew it up it just means no sex once conception has taken place.realize you are at greater risk being 40 but there are plenty of women who have been successful.i wish you the best of luck and my heart feels for you for the loss of your two you lost.
