You may also look out for an option to work online to make extra cash in your spare time. I am a part time worker doing work online at home, so I would like to share a link where you can make $600-$1500 in a month working at home. The work need to be done is posting/answering a discussion and uploading any photo/image of your interest. For details visit

I will publish few more genuine site in couple of weeks, where you can earn money. You may also write to me at talkofmoney@rediffmail.com (Note: When u are planning for a home based online work, be careful because most of them are scam and ask you to pay initial money. never pay money to any such site.)

You are too young to get a work permit (which in the united states is required for anyone under 16). And saving up for a computer will take you a long time considering you cant get a steady job yet. Say you make $10 per hour thats at least 80 hours and if you had a stable job that could take 4 weeks with school. Since you do not it might take you 1-2 years. Might as well wait until you can get a real job and youll work less hard for more money.

Depending on your area, try:

1. Organizing a car wash stating that you're raising funds (For what purpose, you may not want to say its for a playstation) Get a few friends to help out.

2. If you're with a local church, try talking with your church leaders if you could be more entrepreneur in setting up a small booth selling food, snack and drinks after the church service. Tell them you are tight in cash and needed some way to meet your needs. They 'll be more than willing as church nowadays encourage youths to earn and be entrepreneurs rather than slouch at home.

3. Approach those roadshows, fairs that occur between 2 to 3 days period. They pay very well per day. E.g $100 to 150 per day.

4. Borrow from your parents/siblings

5. Open a garage sale if you got lotsa stuff and who knows, you could sell off your broken playstation for some $ for those who knows how to repair them or want their components.

All the best yea..Dont give up :)

Baby sitting I think is a half reasonable option. People can't formally employee you at your age. You are right about house care rates and I fear babysitting will not be much better but your options are limited. If you don't like the family don't do it and be very careful if the man of the house is offering you lifts home at the end of the evening. If you don't like the family don't go near the situation.

Try babysitting. Not total strangers, but people you know. Like your parent's friend's, parent's co-workers, neighbors, maybe teacher's kids, or even your own brother or sister. A fair amount is I'd say 7-10$ per hour.

when my children were your age, they mowed lawns, shoveled snow, cleaned yards, and that kind of stuff for money...the youngest boy made enough money to buy his own used car eventually that way.
