about like this dog and/or a cat who were trying to solve this weird [I think it was a murder] mystery? I think it was their owner that died or something....IDK! Was I dreaming or is this really a movie? It's been buggin' me for days....can you give me a list of possible titles?

"Oh Heavenly Dog" starring Benji and Chevy Chase. Chase is murdered and is given the chance to go back as a dog (Benji) to solve the murder. One of his human friends ends up dying in a car accident and returns as a cat.

"You Never Can Tell" is a charming movie from the '40's starring Dick Powell about a German Shepherd who becomes a man so he can solve the murder of his owner, a millionaire. It was fun to see as a kid.
