Its only limited to 10 for home networking. Upgrade to a server for a company network and you can have many, many. many more....

there is currently no way you can have more than 10 people connecting to a shared drive with the Microsoft Windows operating system.

Some ways around that are setting up 2 computers with data on each individual drive, lets say you have 2 pc's; PC1 and PC2, lets say you have 20 users users 1 through 20.

Users 1-10 are trying to access a file on PC1
if you divide the files up the right way, users 11-20 will access PC2 for what they need. thus no interruptions.

Another way around that is, as mentioned a windows server, or a Linux based OS.

Hey Dude,

Buy windows server. Get a linux server.

10 users is the limit in windows XP/2000/Vista. End of story.

if this is any way related to XP's max of 10 concurrent connections at a single time, there is a hack for that. i do not know it off my head but it does work. do a search. sorry i dont know the link.
