do yourself a favor and go to a local community college. do not waste your money on U T I. its not all its cracked up to be, i know i just grad. from there and it was a waste. you spend god awful amounts of money to learn the names of parts basically. starting tuition to go there is a staggering 23k for the basic auto program, dont do it, just go to a C.C. and get a job in the field. FYI ASE stands for ASK SOMEONE ELSE! LOL.

Iwould recommend a technical institute like UTI or Wyotech. They offer the edjucation and training as well as an apprentice level job for the experince while you attend school, the actual ASE test of your specialization and job search help after your completion of the school. Its anawsome opperutinity to get first rate edjucation in todays automotive technology and skills you need to work in todays automotive industry. The price of the whole nine yards may throw you off a bit but with making a choice to become a mechanic its an investment that is sure to appreciate throughout the years.

You might be referring to ASE.
ASE is the certification body for mechanics. It does not provide training. you can get trained in almost any university. then ASE will administer the test for you to be certified in any of its specializations.
