I took a test and we were asked to give the lewis electron dot formula for C2Cl2 and to determine whether you covalently or ionically bind it. I put:
.. .. .. ..
:Cl = C - C = Cl:

and got it wrong. If anyone could help me out, I'd appreciate it because as you might see, I'm horrible with chemistry!

I'm sorry, it ended up looking differently when I posted it... there are supposed to be two dots over each element's symbol.
