Try mechanic's soap called Orange gloop. Either that or anything mechanics use to wash the grease off their hands. Trust me it works.

If they are old stains that have been washed already, they may be set, but you can try a mixture of Dawn dish soap with a small amount of hot water and scrub each stain with a toothbrush or something similiar. Or try oxyclean and scrub that as well after you make a paste with it as well with hot water also.

Can you let it soak a while? If so, put a lot of oxyclean in some pretty warm water, and put the shirt in. Let it soak as long as you reasonably can, I've had to leave stuff 2 or 3 days, but it gets nearly anything out, and doesn't seem to hurt the fabric.
