My other half is having a hysterectomy. Aside from obvious things like doing the chores and shopping, what do you recommend for an after surgery gift? I'm looking for something small to give at the hospital... Any of you who have had a hysterectomy, please chime in!!

I'm nurse. I would give her some good comfortable slippers, and a gown. At home I would have some bath stuff and perfume. Take care.

I had a hysterectomy about 4 years ago. Best thing I ever did. Was going through menopause. Well, there is no true post-hysterectomy gift, but if she was still having her monthly cycles, you could get her nice lingerie or PJs or nightgown because she will never have to worry about ruining them again ever if you know what I mean. The best! Maybe you have to be a woman to understand. I've said this before- the rule of thumb for men on presents to get a woman is- Nothing you can plug in! Good luck and hope she recovers quickly.

i might touch your GYN, this does not sound mind-blowing for the staggering crimson blood to return or to get heavier. i might suspect which you have over exerted your self in some way or something has been aggravated interior. Your generic menstural cycle being due won't reason you to bleed from now on, you have got some PMS indications from the winning ovary yet no bleeding or cramping (besides a seldom "ghost discomfort") once I had my hysterectomy I bled for roughly 2 weeks then might spot on uncommon occasion simply by intra-vaginal stitches earlier they have been bumped off at 6 weeks submit op.

The best thing I could have gotten after my hysterectomy would be a new night gown. Iwore nothing else for a few days at least, and you can never have too many nightgowns!!
