I have my first ultrasound tomorrow morning and the dr. showed me the instructions but she didn't give them to me ( I think she forgot) I don't remember what I read and I want to be prepared, so any special instructions?...all I remember reading is loose clothing.....thanks for the comments

They didn't say if it was a vaginal ultrasound or not. I am only 8 weeks along and they are doing it to determine the due date since i'm not regular.

Ok i don't know where you are but in Australia it's advised to drink about 600mls of water before you go in probably about a half an hour before. Take the referral from your doctor to the dr that does the ultrasound. And take a tape if you want it recorded. And depending on how many weeks you are you might be able to find out the sex i did with this one at my first ultrasound. Another boy yippee. Good luck and all the best.

Depends if it's a vaginal ultrasound or not. For a vaginal ultrasound (with the magic wand), you probably won't need a full bladder. This would be an ultrasound early in your pregnancy.

well, my experience was during the 1st ultrasound the full bladder didn't matter. They usually can't see anything from the top, so they go in vaginally. Even during my later ones they never told me the full bladder thing.

There's not much to an ultrasound but I think a full bladder is all

dirnk about a litre of water before you go in. here in australia we dont loose the clothing we just lift up the top and slightly move the bottoms down a bit so im a little unsure on your protercalls sorry

your bladder should be really full so they can get a good look.you have to hold it no peeing till after the ultra sound is all done.Good Luck

keep a full bladder. i thought i was going to pee all over the table and he still said it wasnt full enough. so make sure you drink ALOT of water starting atout 1.5 hours before your appt.

drink as much water as you possibly can and dont empty your bladder. i carried a big mug of ice water with me and drank it till i thought i was going to pee on myself .
