I just got my iPod about a month ago and i already uploaded songs and pictures into it but i can't upload videos. All of my videos are in AVI and MPG format. once i put a movie that was in AVI format into itunes and onto my ipod. I could see the video perfectly but you couldn't hear anything. MY question is: What do i need to do to put videos in my iPod? Please be specific.
P.S. If you could also tell me how to put movies from DVDs onto my iPod i would appreciate it
P.S.S. If you haven't personally tried whatever advice you are giving me please don't answer. I need people who know what they are talking about to answer because i don't want anything bad to happen to my computer and iPod.
THANK YOU THANK YOU. Whoever can give me the most useful info first can have 10 points for the best answer!

Fortunately, iTunes is built with this problem in mind. Open iTunes and click Movies under Library on the left sidebar. This should display all the video files that you've uploaded in the main section of the iTunes window. Select a video that you want to convert, open the Advanced menu, and click Convert Selection for iPod. If there is no DRM preventing the video from being converted into another format, iTunes will provide you with an iPod-compatible copy of the video.

Disclaimer: the one time I did try this, it was with a Lucasarts-published video game trailer, and it did have DRM that prevented iTunes from being able to convert it. But I did actually get to the point where this became an issue.

the nano is smaller and, as you stated, very horny. it truly is likewise flash depending, which will make it slightly extra good as there is no hardchronic to placed on out (no shifting elements). notwithstanding, in simple terms as interior the older ipod mini, you pay a lot extra $ in holding with gb; regardless of if the video function isn't all that sensible, you'll spend a lot less time futzing consisting of your library (guide updates, etc) with the better skill of the 30 gig. How large is your library?... via the indisputable fact that better 24 gig is ineffective in case you dont want it. I actual have 60gb video, yet i gotta inform you- the idea of "wearing round your dvd library" and connecting it to a much better visual exhibit unit is crap, broadly speaking because the low res ipod video format sounds like crap at the same time as seen on a "standard" length exhibit screen. p.s there's a 6gb nano interior the works, if not already on the marketplace; it truly relies upon on what you want to do with it, and for the money i imagine the 30gb video is a extra ideal fee (regardless of if higher and heavier).

I have done this a lot! You have to convert your format to .mp4 format. To do this, just download the program. "videora ipod converter"

Just download it here:
http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/

I have had trouble downloading there, so if the download doesn't work the first time, try again as it says on the page.

you need to convert your avi and mpeg videos to a quicktime (mov) format. That's the only format that your video ipod will recognize.
