i just watched my first episode of this shower ever, and the amount of fox advertising in the show was disturbing. Then i caught the detail that there "CNB" channel was playing in the background of the terrorist house, and i was shocked. Is '24' political propaganda?

(E.X. At the beginning the Middle-eastern muslim tries to get on a bus, but is denied by the bus driver out of fear. As it turns out an asian muslim is actually a terrorist)
E.X.A.C.T.L.Y.....this show would create biases against the middle-eastern culture. That is also a very disturbing part of the show.
How about the white-American terrorist, have you been following all the murders this week?

No.. They try to balance out so both parties are represented equally. They also showed CTU watching FOX news. I'd assume that only FOX news would be on the TV's since it's on FOX but it's not. They have to keep it balanced enough or they'll have too many problems with people complaining from either side..

They use Fox News because the show is made on Fox and they don't have to pay money to use it, like they would with CNN. It's not so much political propaganda, it's just they like to use Fox for realism. The show does work some occasional political views into it, but it's usually balanced (E.X. At the beginning the Middle-eastern muslim tries to get on a bus, but is denied by the bus driver out of fear. As it turns out an asian muslim is actually a terrorist)

Ummm...did you watch the entire 2 hours? As I recall, Jack has to save an Arabic leader who is a former terrorist trying to call an end to the bombings. Also I would check back in earlier seasons. Season 5 was about a terrorist threat emanating from Russian separatists. The appearance of Fox News on any of the TV's is probably attributable to the fact that they can't just put CNN in the show as that would be an illegal use of CNN's name. The show really is not prejudiced or propaganda at all if you go back through the years. There have been plenty of multi-ethnic threats. The man who misses the bus I think was meant to show the complexity of the problem they are dealing with. The bus driver was acting racist however, the terrorist had already boarded the bus showing just how impossible it is to distinguish who is a threat and who is not.

First off, If you actually watch the show from season one, they adress the issue of the middle eastern terrorist, and show how there are only extremists committing the crimes and how most of the Muslims aren't terrorists. (SPOILERS, but I don't think you care) Seasons 1 focused on Drazen (not middle eastern), 2 was a white american oil guy, 3 was a European, 4 was a lot of ****, and 5 was Russians and Logan. The show has tackled a lot of different issues, and ultimately is never rascist. Also, Wayne had the fake CNN on in the oval, so its not just for terrorists. You can't blame FOX for getting product placement though, all shows do it. "West Wing" for example, almost always used MSNBC when people where watching news.

How about the fact that for the majority of the shows run there has been a black president. There have also been women in positions of great authority. Perhaps this show will make the general public more comfortable with all races and genders in positions of power. And by the way I am a 52yo white male.

Political Propaganda?
Let me ask you this question. Of all the terrorist acts committed around the world in the last several years, how many of them were committed by Muslims?
The answer, to the best of my knowledge, is all of them.
So if the show is about fighting terrorism (Jack worked for CTU - Counter Terrorism Unit), who are they supposed to be fighting? The Scandanavians?
