Because a good thing isn't enough anymore. We love our little PS2. It's great. The graphics are fine, and we have a ton of games. We were not about to spend 4 times that amount to upgrade to a system that is overhyped...just like the XBox 360. It's all about status. If you have something that's good, someone wants to make it bigger and better, no matter the cost.

because in your own opinion the ps3 is bad, so in your eyes, the ps3 sucks

It will take a year for the game developers to start making the good graphics. Look at gears of war, but i was wondering the same question
